John P. Ober - Chicago
Mr. Ober is Managing Director of The Armand Group. Prior to joining Armand he held executive positions with Goldman Sachs, First Boston, Swiss Re New Markets, and AIG Risk Finance.
During his many years with Goldman Sachs and First Boston he was responsible for debt capital markets origination and trading. Later, at AIG and Swiss Re Mr. Ober ran the Midwest Alternative Risk Transfer or "ART" unit for both these companies.
As a principal shareholder of Saluc International, the Belgian domiciled manufacturer of the Aramith billiard ball, Mr. Ober serves on the board of the holding company. Additionally, he is a director of RG International Group, owner of the European operations of Revell, the world leader in plastic model kits and die cast collectibles.
Mr. Ober received his MBA in finance from the University of Chicago and holds a BS in chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Additionally, he is a CPA in the state of Illinois.
